First Aid Training in the workplace

Appointed Person.

A one day course that will qualify the student to take on the role of Appointed Person in the workplace. A recognised qualification, the certificate is valid for three years.

Subjects covered will include recording and reporting incidents, Basic Life support (CPR), incident management, causes of unconsciousnes and when to call the emergency services.

First Aider.

A four day course that will qualify the student as a First Aider in the workplace. This HSE approved course will be valid for three years at which point it can be updated with a two day refresher.

Subjects covered include adult and child Basic Life Support (CPR), accident scene assessment and management, shock, causes of unconsciousness,fractures, anaphylaxis, heart attacks, diabetes and asthma.

More in depth than the Appointed Person course, students are assessed on the fourth day by an external assessor for practical wound management and bleeding, life saving skills and with a short, general multiple choice paper.

First Aider Refresher.

A two day course covering the essentials of the First Aider course above. Students will be re-assessed allowing their existing First Aider certificate to be extended for another three year period. This course is only available to those with valid First Aider certificates. Training must start within 28 days of the original certificate expiring.
